International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) / Theatrical Teamsters Local 817 – NYC has graciously offered to represent United Locations Department Workers (ULDW) for workplace collective bargaining. ULDW membership has voted unanimously to accept. IBT has a long history with the Locations Department dating back to to the infancy days of filmmaking; Directors and other studio department heads needing drivers with local knowledge to preview locations away from the studio and going forward (so to speak) from there! We all look forward to working together with Local 817 in the days and years to come!

Golimumab (CNTO 148) is a human monoclonal antibody which is used as an immunosuppressive drug and marketed under the brand name Simponi. Golimumab targets tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), a pro-inflammatory molecul and hence is a TNF inhibitor.
Golimumab was developed by Centocor and is approved in Canada and the United States as a once monthly subcutaneous treatment for adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Golimumab has been approved in 2013 for use in adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.
In the same year, Johnson & Johnson, the parent company of Centocor, also received an approval from European Medicines Agency (EMEA) for the use of golimumab as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Golimumab is marketed by Merck & Co, Inc. in Europe, pending final arbitration between J&J and Merck.

I worked as a Location Scout @ The Young Pope, an upcoming 8-episode HBO miniseries.

The eight-episode series stars Jude Law as the complex and conflicted Pius XIII, the first American pope. The cast includes Diane Keaton as Sister Mary, an American nun living in Vatican City, as well as Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli and James Cromwell.
United Locations Department Workers (ULDW) Has Unionized!
On June 14th, ULDW / Crossroads Location Scouts members voted unanimously to join Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1101 NYC and the union was finalized in July. Many thanks to CWA for their energetic support! CWA-ULDW represents a majority of workers in the Locations Departments of major tv and movie productions in the New York City area market. Our membership includes Assistant Location Managers, Location Scouts, Locations Department Coordinators and Locations Department Assistants, none of whom have previously been represented for collective bargaining. Julie Delpy and Greta Gerwig are already on board the ensemble movie, which begins shooting in New York this week.
Kieran Culkin, Danny DeVito, Brie Larson, Ellen Burstyn, Zosia Mamet and Tracy Letts have joined Julie Delpy and Greta Gerwig in Wiener Dog, Todd Solondz’s ensemble indie being produced by Annapurna.
Production began this week in New York on the movie, which tells several stories that are tied together by a dachshund and the people whose life is changed by the encounter.
As THR previously reported, Gerwig is playing a character first introduced in Solondz’s 1995 cult hit, Welcome to the Dollhouse, which told of a girl named Dawn Wiener who was mercilessly teased. Gerwig is playing the adult Wiener in one of the storylines.
Megan Ellison is producing through her Annapurna Pictures alongside Christine Vachon of Killer Films.
David Distenfeld is the exec overseeing the project for Annapurna Pictures while exec David Hinojosa shepherds for Killer Films.
